AT&T
AT&T Inc. is an American multinational conglomerate holding company, Delaware-registered[6] but it is headquartered at Whitacre Tower in Downtown Dallas, Texas.[7] It is the world’s largest telecommunications company, and the second largest[8] provider of mobile telephone services. As of 2020, AT&T was ranked 9th on the Fortune 500 rankings of the largest United States corporations, with revenues of $181 billion.[9]
During most of the 20th century, AT&T had a monopoly on phone service in the United States. The company began its history as the American District Telegraph Company, formed in St. Louis in 1878.[10] After expanding services to Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, through a series of mergers, it became Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1920, which was then a subsidiary of American Telephone and Telegraph Company.[11] The latter was a successor of the original Bell Telephone Company founded by Alexander Graham Bell in 1877.[12][13] The American Bell Telephone Company formed the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) subsidiary in 1885.[14] In 1899, AT&T became the parent company after the American Bell Telephone Company sold its assets to its subsidiary.[15] The company was rebranded as AT&T Corp. in 1994.[16] The 1982 United States v. AT&T antitrust lawsuit resulted in the divestiture of AT&T's ("Ma Bell") local operating subsidiaries[17] which were grouped into seven[18] Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), commonly referred to as "Baby Bells", resulting in seven independent companies,[18] including Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC).[19] The latter changed its name to SBC Communications Inc. in 1995.[20] In 2005, SBC purchased its former parent AT&T Corp. and took on its branding, with the merged entity naming itself AT&T Inc. and using its history, a version of its iconic logo and stock-trading symbol.[21] AT&T Inc. acquired BellSouth Corporation in 2006, the last independent Baby Bell company, making its formerly joint venture Cingular Wireless (which had acquired AT&T Wireless in 2004) wholly owned and rebranding it as AT&T Mobility.
The current AT&T reconstitutes much of the former Bell System, and includes four of the seven “Baby Bells” along with the original AT&T Corp., including the long-distance division.[22]

Why is my bill so expensive?I will start by saying that I have nothing against the people that work in the store. AT&T is painfully expensive. I have called customer service and customer loyalty numerous times to try to lower my bill, fix data access issues, and service issues. Each time I end up on the phone for HOURS! My bill somehow INCREASES and my data access issue has NEVER been resolved (had my tablet for 2 years and it has never been able to access cellular data, a problem our other tablets don't have) and I just keep calling back. I think that the reception is great in this area for wireless. Directv is a huge ripoff. We are forced to pay $80/month to get the 6 channels that we watch. Somehow that also increased after calling TWICE to try and get it lowered. I have been with them since they were Centennial and the prices have just skyrocketed! I am shopping around. $500/month is INSANE!!!!!! I am a very UNHAPPY customer!
Yep they got me too not a new customer and certainly not a future customer. So I had the option of upgrading to the new S7 edge called an AT&T sales associate and they said yep we have options of 24 and 30 month agreements and your payments would go down $25 per line in access fees and the phone will be $33.13 each per month so a difference of $16.26 /month. Wrong... That quote was if you are on the 15 GB data plan. They gave me a $25 credit for the misinformation of the sales associate and the best buy rep that sold the phones to me. Now I get my first bill of $202.56 minus the $25 credit woohoo.. They also failed to mention the $20 per phone one time upgrade fee at that phone call. Apparently these crooks think that it is plausable that I pay for the phones and pay for the service of paying for the phones. They fail to mention all the hidden charges they are going to hit you with. Either they are improperly trained as sales associates or they are just blatently crooks. I am a military service member and when I don't do my job correctly people die. I wish them nothing but the worst.... As if they read customer comments... They can't even do their job let alone some additional responsibility and accountibility for their actions. This is the third time and as the saying goes three strikes your out...
ATT TV dev. Showing up as Samsung Smart TvAs im going through the list of devices connected to my home network (trying to be proactive in maintaining security in my secure network) at first glance I noticed that the ATT TV Device was listed but after closer inspection I noticed it said it was a Samsung Smart Tv Device?? Is this normal or should I be worried someone is editing and coding the Devices on my Network to cause me NOT to get suspicious of some SHADY activities?!?
Worst customer service in the worldAT&T customer service is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. This company lies to their customers. Loyal customers. It’s ashame honestly. All I wanted was to keep my same phone number switch from Verizon and I couldn’t even do that after speaking to 10+ ppl through chat, store and phone (hung up twice one .. never called me back) pretty much never gave a darn about me or my needs after I’ve been a loyal customer paying on an account for months that I never even used until this month.
You all should be ashame. All you could ever ask for is money to pay my Bill no compensation no nothing. And I was inconvenienced for days without a phone!!! Like what type of company us this. I thought that you guys were on the same lines as Verizon but Verizon has you beat and at the first sign of escape I’m escaping from this lying company.
Customer service is important and it should always come first but to this company it comes last and it shows. The inconvenience. My phone number was linked to everything.. and the fact that I still can’t recover some apps due to my recovery set to my phone number. At&T can kick all the rocks bro.

My first bill is too expensiveWe switched from sprint to ATT not even 2 weeks ago. Before the switch, we were quoted from $200 to $233 (monthly) but that’s before taxes. Anyway, I decided to get on the Chat with an agent and pretended that I am interested to switching to ATT. I asked how much it will be for the first bill, he told me it will be $233+tax+$30 (for 3 phones’ activation fees), but that didn’t seem accurate because my first bill just came up to $460... can someone please explain this to me? Thank you!!!
First bill way too highSo after signing up for the next plan with the buy one get one free S7's, I got my exagerated bill. It looks like I'm being charged twice for unlimited plan, being charged for the free phone, seeing activation fees that where never mentioned. We also agree'd to take home 2 "free" tablets that were going to cost $10 a month for 1gb plan. We were billed $10 for each tab plus $10 for the 1gb data plus another $45 each for another activation fee that we were never told about. I was expecting a bill around $200, I was shocked to see my first bill at over $570. Is this common practice for ATT to decieve its customers like this? Has this happened to anyone else? and how was it resolved?
Broadband 2 Flashing RedThe red light for the broadband 2 is flashing red. Speed test did not indicate a problem. Internet connection went out last for about a minute, but it appears to be working as it should right now. Also reset the modem twice but the red light for broadband 2 continues to flash. The red light was not flashing before we lost the connection last night.
constant outgoing signal loss since signing upI switched from Spectrum to AT&T because of intermittent connection issues. I purchased all new cables, new modem, new router and am using a new computer. I operate an internet station on the outgoing line and lose connection on a daily basis. I lose my listeners, and if I am not watching the outgoing send, the stream stays offline. Fiber is not an option in our area apparently and the signal going out is not more than the speed available. Spectrum was here 5 times replacing everything but the main line. Their customers blame it on overload of the nodes which AT&T is supposed to have a better load limit. Any ideas?
Blocked ports League of LegendsI have not been able to connect to LoL for 1 week, this only happens on the LAN server. I've contacted the support multiple times and they've done everything but it doesn't seem to work. Anybody else with the trouble? any solution?
Tv provider not working that user id doesn't seem to work hereI keep getting that user id doesn't seem to work here i keep resetting nothing ‘happen
AT&T Prepaid PlanWill I receive a refund of my unused time when I transfer to another server?
AT&T Prepaid OverchargesI recently tried to sign my dad who is elderly and disabled up for the AT&T Prepaid. I signed him up from his postmade account to the prepaid and was charged $28.15 for the plan only to find out his number was not transferred. I spent 3 hours on hold total 2 different times trying to seek assistance on the phone. Neither agent could help me and sent me into the store. In order to transfer the number they had to make a completely new account and charged me yet again, this time $32.45. They told me the previous account could not be refunded. I also cannot access that account online now because it is linked to the new number that isn't active to get a code to cancel that auto pay and I am worried it will continue charging me. The in person agent did not enroll him in the cheapest plan of $15.00 nor the auto pay to save $5. I made an account online and saw this $15 plan. I switched the plan without any notice that it would charge him again and was notified it charged him again! 17.55. This has been an absolute nightmare all because I am trying to help get an elderly, disabled man a form of communication he can afford. We've been with AT&T since 2008 and I am disappointed in how it has gone down hill. For years prior to knowing about this plan he was being charged $60 a month just to use basic talk and text for a flip phone. I am so frustrated with all of this, I could cry. Please tell me how I can get real assistance here in making sure the other account is not active and doing the right thing in crediting or refunding the lost money that he does not have because agents lack of customer service. I can't even call in anymore without waiting for an hour and a half for someone to get on the line. Please do the right thing for a loyal customer that has been with AT&T and still with them despite all of these frustrations. Please.
